Beautiful Hawaii Scenery And Film Set Locations

Located near Kaaawa on Oahu’s windward coast, Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000 acre, family-owned outdoor adventure arena. From the earliest days, Kualoa Valley was considered sacred to natives of Oahu and is even today shrouded in legend. According to one tale, the Moili fishpond located at the ranch was built overnight by the Menehune, the legendary “little people” of Hawaiian folklore.

The area also served as a residence and place of schooling for Hawaiian royalty, who used the location to undertake studies in history and the art of war. The stunning mountains that rise from the base of Kualoa add to the sacred ambiance of the area. The highest point on the Kualoa Ridge is the 1900 foot-high mountain peak called Kanehoalani, which means “Kane’s heavenly companion.”

In 1850, a missionary doctor named Dr. Gerrit P. Judd purchased 600 acres of land from King Kamehameha III, (to whom he served as personal advisor) and established a private estate. Over the next few decades, Dr. Judd added a few thousand more acres to his property and in 1927 christened his estate Kualoa Ranch. The ranch served as a U.S. airstrip during World War II and perhaps more recognizably as a filming location for popular Hollywood hits such as Jurassic Park, Godzilla and 50 First Dates.

Today, the ranch is fastidiously and lovingly maintained by descendants of Dr. Judd who strive to ward of developers and preserve the land’s natural beauty. There are guided Private tours in Hawaii that can take you there. While it is true that Kualoa Valley features some of the most stunning scenery on Oahu, guests at the Kualoa Ranch need not rely solely on looks for their entertainment. The ranch offers an enormous range of activities for everyone from adventure-seekers to families with children.

Guests can explore the terrain on horseback, partake in an organized Jungle Expedition, go snorkeling in Kaneohe Bay, or take one of the ATV (all-terrain-vehicle) tours that are offered regularly on site. The less outdoorsy types can take hula lessons, go on a garden tour or visit the Hawaiian fishpond. Kualoa Ranch also has a petting zoo and excellent educational programs for kids. The ranch is fully equipped with a gift shop and a visitors center, where guests can purchase half- or full-day tour packages.

Should You Take Your Dog To A Grooming Parlor Or Do It Yourself

All dogs need to be groomed on a regular basis, daily is ideal. The grooming process helps you bond with your dog, as well as keeping their coat clean and healthy, checking them over for injuries or parasites and removing shedding hair before it is dropped in your house, very important for allergy sufferers. This can be done by you as the owner, but there are some other tasks that you will want to take your dog to a Miami Lakes salon to get done by trained dog grooming professionals.

When you are choosing a dog grooming Miami Lakes salon, get opinions from any other dog owners that you know, and check out online reviews if possible. You don’t want to send your dog to a place that won’t take care of them or may do a bad job. Once you have some potential companies give them a call to check on rates and availability. Some places will come and collect your dog and drop them off which is great for those who work and have less time to run errands.

There are also mobile dog groomers; dog grooming services are easy to come by. Give the groomer that you choose detailed instructions on what you want done, and them leave them to it. There will generally be a bath involved in the haircut, and you can also ask the parlor staff to clean eyes and ears and in some cases trim claws.

Although cutting your dogs hair is probably best done by a professional, there are plenty of dog grooming tasks you can do at home. Start when your dog is a puppy, this will help you bond and get them used to being groomed early on in life. Use each grooming session as a chance to check your dog’s health and general mood, and look for any signs of a change which can be an early warning for a disease.

You can also trim claws yourself; there are tools designed specifically for the job, you must ensure that you don’t cut too much off the claws as you may hit the blood supply and cause a bleed. If you are in doubt, ask your vet to trim your dog’s claws for you. If you have a dog that molts then brush them outside; the birds will appreciate the fur for their nests, and any allergy sufferers in your house will fare better with less hair being shed inside.

There are a range of tools that are used in dog grooming; you’re grooming parlor or pet store will be able to help you pick the right combination for your breed, and give you advice an instruction how to use it. Kits to clean the eyes and ears of your dog are also easy to find, and this is a job that should also be dome regularly in order to maintain your dog in peak condition; wax remover may also be needed for some dogs that are prone to a build up.

Are Hardwood Floors Easy To Clean?

Contrary to popular belief, hardwood floors are the easiest to maintain and clean. Perhaps what makes it easy to clean and maintain hardwood floors is the fact that unlike carpeting and other flooring materials, hardwood needs very little maintenance, and is very durable.

It goes without saying that a well maintained and clean hardwood floor can really turn the interior of your home into a haven, creating the illusion of space and charm. While cleaning the different types of hardwood floors requires no special formula or additional attention, some finishes used on hardwood may need extra care, especially when getting rid of stubborn and unsightly stains.

Simple Hardwood Cleaning

The easiest and most effective way you can clean your hardwood floor is by simply using a damp mop – further details here. The process is quite simple here. Start by dusting off the surfaces using a simple vacuum cleaner or a soft broom. After that you can start moping, rinsing, and then repeating to get rid of all dust, dirt, and grit from your hardwood floors. Remember that despite the fact that they are the hardiest flooring materials available in the market, grit and dirt are hardwood’s biggest enemy when it comes to scouring or scratching the finish on the floor.

There are several cleaners in the market today for cleaning hardwood floors, but the best one is a neutral cleanser i.e. one whose pH value is neutral, not too high nor too low. Such a cleaner used together with water can do a very effective job. As a general rule of thumb, always ensure your hardwood floor is well sealed before you start mopping. What this means is that places that are worn out should never come in contact with water, since it can penetrate through the opening and cause warping. Of course this compromises on the aesthetic appeal of your hardwood floor material, as well as its durability.

How To Clean Hardwood Floors With Polyurethane Finish?

Most hardwood floors today come with polyurethane finish. Ever come across a floor that looks shiny and glossy? Most probably it is polyurethane, a finish that assumes the look of a plastic coating over your hardwood. The best thing with this finish is that it is hard wearing, enhancing the durability of your floor even further. The other common finish is known as penetrating seals, and will come with oil or wax finishes that would equally penetrate and seep in through the wood. The best thing with the penetrating seals is the fact that they offer hardwood floor protection from the inside out.

You need to be very cautious when cleaning your hardwood floors that have a finish, because over scrubbing may compromise on the luster appeal of your hardwood floor, so you want to be easy on that. You also want to be easy with the cleaning material you will use, as most of them may end up stripping off the luster appeal.

With that being said, it is to be mentioned that all floors are vulnerable to dirt and stains, whether they are carpet or hardwood. You can use a fine steel wool to get rid of most stains, adding a little alcohol on it can make the stains come off easily from hardwood floors. Once you are done, you can always polish and buff your floor. Should the stain remain after cleaning with alcohol, sanding down the stained area could be the only viable option at your disposal.

Is Your Roof Leaking?

Isn’t it true, whenever we think of renovating and prettying-up our homes we’ll give the walls and ceilings a coat of paint and maybe even indulge in new floor coverings not to mention updating the furniture? But not a thought goes into ensuring the tiled roof above our castle is maintained and waterproofed. No we’re not talking about a cosmetic paint job to the roof, just good old fashioned maintenance and repairs, eg. clean out the leaves from the valleys & gutters, repairing or replacing damaged roof tiles and most importantly securing and resealing the fractured concrete grouting under the ridge capping (highest point of the roof – also considered to be the spinal cord of the roof). Maybe it’s time to call Pittsburgh roofers just to make sure.

All too often Pittsburgh homeowners suffer leaks in the storm season because the roof maintenance wasn’t even thought of. No probs. we’ll claim it under our insurance! Not so! Insurance companies are waking up and realizing that it takes a pretty big storm to blow a secured tiled roof apart, and that in most cases the rainwater probably entered the ceiling area through leaf blocked gutters and downpipes, a damaged roof tile or fractured concrete grouting that has deteriorated through age and lack of maintenance.

Generally the only storm damage claims accepted by insurance companies are those caused by hail stones or by trees and branches being blown onto the roof – breaking tiles and causing damage to the ridge capping.

Not only do the roof repairs go unclaimed but also the resultant damage to the internal of the house. A very heartbreaking and costly learning experience.

Our home is generally the single biggest investment we will make in our lifetime, so knowing that the roof over our castle is safe, sound and in good order will guarantee a restful nights sleep as you can read from https://www.theodysseyonline.com/5-roof-safety-tip-for-the-spring-season. Most importantly it will eliminate any unnecessary and often unpaid insurance claims.

Patent Searches

A patent search cannot be performed by just anyone! Each search is carried out by an engineer or scientist who is a native English speaker and an expert patent searcher. The searching strategy and final results are approved by a licensed Patent Attorney. The combination of these elements enables the search to be comprehensive and thorough.

A Patent Attorney or a patent agency, such as InventHelp, is familiar with patent drafting which aids in the formulation of keyword combinations, an engineer or scientist uses his technical vocabulary to broaden the search and a fluent English speaker utilizes uncommonly used keywords and their synonyms, which may have been used to describe an invention.

There are numerous techniques to find the most relevant prior art. These include:

Keyword searching – Every search comprises an advanced boolean based keyword search of the relevant sections of issued and published patent applications, including the abstract, claims and description. Typically, multiple sets of keywords are used for completeness.

Cross referencing – Relevant patents often cite other relevant patents, and are also cited by later-filed applications. Cross referencing is a very valuable tool for finding important prior art.

Class/subclass searching – Patents in the appropriate classes and subclasses according to the International Patent Classifications (IPC) and the US Classifications (USC) are reviewed for relevant prior art.

Assignee search – Companies that produce similar products are often a valuable source of  relevant prior art. This search may catch references that were not uncovered by any of the above techniques.

Internet search – Searches aren’t limited to patent databases. An internet search engine is also used when necessary to find other types of relevant art.

It is always better to hire the professionals, such as patent InventHelp agency, to perform the patent search.

What Should Be in the Patent Application

A patent application may be filed by the inventor (or any of the co-inventors), or a legal representative, who may be an appointed agent or a person to whom rights to the invention were formally transferred by the inventor(s). Both applicant name and the name of the true inventor(s) are entered in the application.

Documents

A patent application comprises several documents, and certain forms, as described below:

Petition: a formal request for a patent, available as a printed or as part of the online application, comprising personal information about the inventor(s), assignment of an agent/representative, indication of a previous foreign or international filing date, and an optional declaration of “small-entity” fee-level entitlement;

Abstract: a brief synopsis of the invention and its use;

Description: a statement of the field of the invention, a survey of its technical background and existing solutions, a summary of the distinct features the invention possesses, a listing of the accompanying drawings, and a comprehensive, detailed technical disclosure of the various features of the invention;

Claims: succinct, precise statements of features taught by the invention;

Drawings: clear illustrations and annotations in a prescribed format, which must correspond to the provided description;

Fees: application fees must be submitted with the application, and may be remitted online or mailed to the Patent Office with the proper form.

It is all explained in details on this article – how to patent an idea with InventHelp.

The description and claims are collectively called the “specification”. A patent application must exhibit integrity and congruence: features claimed must be supported in the description and drawings, and components appearing in different drawings must be labeled identically.

Filing date

Establishing a filing date as early as possible is critical in situations where a competing development of an invention is believed to exist, or if publication or public disclosure of the invention is suspected to be imminent. Once an application is filed, subsequent applications for the same invention by other inventors (in that country) will be rejected, and publications or public disclosures of the invention will not affect it.

Ideally, an application should be completed properly before it is filed; but if the situation is such that it is imperative to establish a filing date with a minimal delay, a skeletal, incomplete application may be filed, and then completed at a later time. To establish a filing date an application must contain the following:

  • an indication that a patent is sought;
  • name and address of the applicant or representative;
  • a description of the invention;
  • an application fee.

To complete the application a petition must be submitted, along with the remainder of the documents as listed in the ‘documents’ section above. If an application is completed within fifteen months of its filing date, no fee is levied. If an application remains incomplete at the expiry of this period, a Commissioner’s Notice is sent requisitioning the applicant to complete the application within three months, and remit the prescribed completion fee to avoid abandonment. Variety of Patent Searches and Reports

In some cases the USPTO is requiring inventors to classify their own application before it can be accepted. There are specific rules of classification that must be followed in order to have an accurate and complete classification. As can be seen from the Patent Process, this can, and often is, a difficult task that requires an expert to perform as recommended in how to get a patent with InventHelp article.

Patentability/Novelty Search

The Patentability or Novelty search is the most common type of patent search and is most often done when an inventor is interested in patenting an invention.

Validity Search

A Validity search is used to establish or abolish the legality of an issued patent for an infringement defense, or it can be used to confirm the legality of a patent prior to the assignment or licensing of the invention to another.

State of the Art Search

A State-of-the-Art search provides an overview of a technology area, also known as “the art.” Representative patents are selected that give a good overview so that it allows the user to see what is currently being developed in a given technology.

Accelerated Examination/Examination Support Search

Under certain conditions an applicant may qualify for the accelerated examination program. Search report meets all the pre-examination search, requirements, including the USPC and IPC classifications searched, as well as the search strategy and databases employed in searching patent and non-patent literature.

Collection Search

The collection search is similar to the state-of-the-art search except that it examines each and every patent in a given technology. It goes beyond the state-of-the-art search in that a detailed literature search is performed in addition to issued patents.

Literature Search

Non-patent literature, particularly technical journals, can stand as prior art in the same manner as issued patents and PGPUBs. This search examines major databases of the technical literature and is included in some of the other searches.

Expanded Foreign Art Search

Each nation has its own patent system, so that what may be patentable in the United States may not be patentable in Europe or Japan. Search for foreign patents and publications classified within the International Patent Classification (IPC) in addition to the foreign patents available through the USPTO and online database resources.
